Non-blokey workplaces - gender equality by design

Kerstin Oberprieler and Mark Sullivan will be guest speakers at our 9 August Network of Possibility cocktail reception.

Kerstin is a leading gamification designer. She is passionate about disruptive technology and how it can be used to transform behaviour. Kerstin will share her story about confronting and overcoming imposter phenomenon to achieve significant professional and sporting success.

A former Secretary, Mark has extensive CEO, Board and audit committee experience across a range of complex organisations over many years within and outside government. He will share lessons for making our workplaces more inclusive and his vision of what non-blokey workplaces can look like.

As always, we celebrate the unique talents of our Network of Possibility members with Ask Me Anything (AMA) and the 9 August AMA will be as inspirational as ever with the following amazing women speaking:

  • Tara Cheyne, Legislative Assembly member for Ginninderra, a passionate advocate for Canberra, and especially for her home: Belconnen.

Inspired to makeshift big changes in your and other people's lives?

How would you like Canberra to look and feel in 15 years – and what will you do to make your vision a reality? I want it to be more inclusive and supportive of people on the margins. That is why I founded the Network of Possibility, a philanthropic endeavour which uses the unique skills of local professionals to raise much-needed funds for our local charities. In our first year, we have proudly supported the Tara Costigan Foundation (TCF). The Network has contributed over $2000 to TCF from just three cocktail receptions. We hope to make an even bigger contribution to more organisations in our second year.

The Network of Possibility provides a neutral and supportive space for members and guests to share defeats as well as triumphs, seek advice and find social connection. We do not systematically exchange business cards or present elevator pitches. This is a relationship driven network where we prioritise getting to know each other. We don’t tell, sell, or yell and no one needs to persuade or convince us of their worth. We know you’re worthwhile. We want to get to know what your purpose is (not your level, status or rank). What makes your heart sing and how can we help you achieve that?
