NESA Approved (NSW Specific) Child Protection Webinar
Event Information
Description
The team at In Safe Hands Educators In Safety is proud to offer an open child protection webinar for teachers in New South Wales to meet their child protection requirements. This webinar is NESA approved and will contribute three hours towards your Professional Development as well as meet your requirements under Regulation 84 of the National Quality Framework (NQF). Services have continuing requirements to ensure that the nominated supervisor and staff members at the service who work with children maintain up-to-date knowledge of child protection law. Our Legal and Practical Response to Child Abuse is part of our signature series of child protection courses and will empower you with the necessary skills to ensure that Protecting Children is Everybody’s Responsibility.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
- Definition of child abuse;
- Types of child abuse;
- Indicators of child abuse;
- Early Intervention and Prevention tools;
- Federal, State and Civil laws as pertained to child protection and civil liability;
- Child Protection requirements under relevant National Frameworks;
- Reporting of child abuse;
- Managing disclosures;
- Recording and documenting;
- Understanding of relevant State Child Safe Standards.
IMPORTANT: Please note that this course is not the CHCPRT001 (Identify and respond to children and young people at risk) or the CHCPRT002 (Support the rights and safety of children and young people). In NSW nominated supervisors and persons in day-to-day charge are required to have completed the child protection courses approved by the NSW Regulatory Authority (s. 162A Education and Care Services National Law). If you have completed these units then there is no requirement to complete them again and this webinar will suffice as refresher training under the NQF.
