NESA Accredited Teacher PD - Top EQ and Mind Coach

Take your professional development to another level with this unique and innovative new NESA Accredited PD program (4 hours)*, created and developed by one of Australia’s top emotional agility, mind and leadership experts, Mike Conway (Socceroos, XVenture, Sydney FC, UOW).

Experience first-hand a multi-modal teaching approach which encourages active participation using a blend of individual and group work and teaching strategies: Think-Pair-Share, Problem-Based Learning, experiential activities, and Cooperative Learning.

Participants will:

• Be introduced to Social Emotional Learning (SEL), to support the development student mental and wellbeing.

• See how SEL competencies stem from research in emotional intelligence and gain in depth understanding of the correlation between emotional intelligence, communication, and resilience.

• Learn how you can infuse social-emotional skills and competencies into regular academic content and activities and peer review their thinking.

• Collaborate with other participants to generate a list of actions to implement in their classrooms, along with access to resources supporting emotional and mental wellbeing referenced during the course.

* Completing "Social Emotional Learning (SEL) inspired approaches to develop and support student mental health and wellbeing" will contribute 4 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Student/child Mental health addressing Standard Descriptor(s) 1.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
