NCCD Cross-School Moderation Toowoomba (Scondary)
Moderation with Catholic Education colleagues.
Moderation is a key quality assurance process of the NCCD. It ensures consistent and defensible decisions about the Level of Adjustment (LoA) and Category of Disability (CoD) by collaboratively reviewing and validating evidence of adjustments.
Cross-school moderation is designed for participants who have completed a within-school moderation.
All participants must bring three copies of the same de-identified student case study.
Who should attend?
Class/subject teachers, school leaders, and school counsellors/psychologists.
Registration
Participants must register individually using their school email address. Only registered participants can attend.
Workshop details
· Duration: 3 hours
· Purpose: To support high-quality and evidence-informed decisions about including students in the NCCD count
· Attendance: You will be working in small groups; full-session participation is required.
· Preparation: One de-identified set of student information copied x 3.
What to prepare/bring for the session?
· One de-identified set of student information copied x 3
· NCCD reference materials:
o Selecting the level of adjustment (the level of adjustment matrix (A3)
o Broad categories of disability used in the NCCD (PDF)
o Examples of evidence to support a student’s inclusion in the NCCD (PDF)
o NCCD Moderation resource for schools
