Nature writing workshop: Connecting to Nature, Sky and Self
Overview
Writer Mia-Francesca Jones leads this nature writing workshop designed to help you observe, imagine and, most importantly, write! Using guided prompts and readings from contemporary nature writers, practice forms of attention including weather watching, sky-gazing and field writing. Ideal for fiction and non-fiction writers at all levels.
About Mia-Francesca Jones:
Mia-Francesca Jones is a writer and researcher living in Naarm/Melbourne. Her work explores our changing relationship with weather, light and the body during a time of climate crisis. She has been a Sydney Powerhouse Museum Scholar, Abbotsford Convent Writer in Residence, and was awarded the 2025 Mick Dark Flagship Fellowship for Outstanding Environmental Writing by Varuna National Writers House. She co-produces the Edits & Annotations literary podcast for the Roderick Centre for Australian Literature and Creative Writing, and has a PhD in creative environmental writing.
