This is a rare opportunity to visit Marloo, the Mount Marsden property of farmer and educator Stuart Andrews. Andrews will demonstrate how he is rehabilitating severely degraded areas of Marloo to a fertile and water-retaining state by employing the principles of Natural Sequence Farming (NSF). This is a chance to hear first-hand from an innovative farmer what it means to practice sustainable, economically viable land management. The Marloo site visit was one of the highlights of Futurelands2, staged in Kandos in November 2016. For Cementa 17, Stuart will take visitors to a new location on the property.

Tour participants will be taken to Marloo by bus ONLY - it will not be possible to drive there in your own vehicle. There are 60 seats, so 60 tickets.

The bus will depart from Buchanan st, above the Kandos Community Centre Hall at 9.00am. Participants will be returned to the Hall at approximately 11.45am.

Once we arrive at Marloo it will be a 10-15 minute walk from bus drop-off to the demonstration site. Wear appropriate footwear (no thongs!) and check the weather beforehand: bring hats, water, sunscreen, umbrellas etc. Children are very welcome, so long as they can cope with the walk. Please don't bring dogs.

Stuart Andrews is the director of Tarwyn Park Training, the principal education wing for the Natural Sequence Farming (NSF) method. NSF is internationally recognised as a significant innovation in sustainable agriculture and land care, and was developed in Australian conditions (one of the driest and oldest continents on earth) with the ability to be utilised anywhere in the world. Andrews has four decades of experience as a farmer, working with his father Peter Andrews (the inventor of NSF) at the celebrated Tarwyn Park in rural NSW, and has been developing NSF in new directions in recent years.
