Native Bats Weaving Project

Shellharbour Civic Centre

Create native bats in a hands-on weaving workshop!

The Imaginarium

Corinne Payne (Bundjalung, Gumbaynggirr, Ngarrabul and Walbanja Yuin) is the resident artist at the Imaginarium in June, creating large suspended flying bat sculptures with woven bodies and semi-transparent wings.Join Corrine as she leads a hands-on weaving workshop to make your very own woven bats. This workshop will offer participants the chance to learn new skills and connect more deeply with the themes explored in the work. The project is inspired by Shellharbour City Council’s flying-fox habitat restoration efforts. Council Environmental educators will join the workshop to share insights into this important environmental work and future initiatives, helping to build community awareness of the role flying-foxes play in our local ecosystem. Two workshop dates avaiable:

Monday 22 June, 10am to 12pm

Saturday 27 June, 10am to 12pm

Bookings are essential.Have a question?
