About this event

  • 3 hours 30 minutes

We're celebrating National Tree Day early in Rockingham this year! Celebrate with CVA, Chevron Australia and the City of Rockingham, by joining our planting ex-TREE-vaganza at Seahaven Reserve. As part of the day we'll be planting native seedlings at the Reserve, to create shade in our suburbs, increase habitat for native animals, and a chance for our local community to connect with nature.

We will also be celebrating our Urban Shade Forest project, with a bunch of free activities available - including a native wildlife show - where you can meet snake-necked turtles, bobtails, snakes and tawny frogmouths, make a native bee hotel to take home, and become a Plant Picasso as you decorate your own biodegradable planter! There will also be free native seedlings to give away to all attendees!

Our friendly team will be there to share their knowledge and guide you. And don't worry, we've got all the tools and equipment you need, plus a free lunch to celebrate our hard work.

Registrations for each session are essential, so don't miss out.

PLEASE NOTE: You will also need to register for this event via Conservation Volunteers Australia's volunteer platform (https://conservationvolunteers.info/USFPerth). If you only register via Eventbrite, a CVA staff member will contact you with the required registration link.

Contact TGustowski@cva.org.au if you have any questions.

The Urban Shade Forest initiative is supported by our major partner Chevron Australia and supported locally by Chevron's premium fuel brand Caltex, and by the City of Rockingham

Frequently asked questions

Can children participate in this activity?

Yes, children aged from 3-14 can participate as long as they are supervised by a parent/carer. Children aged 14-17 can participate without parental supervision, however, consent from a parent or legal guardian is required prior to registration. All CVA staff hold Working With Children's Checks.

Is parking available on site?

Wherever possible, we encourage the use of carpooling or public transport. If driving, parking will be available near the corner of Charthouse Road and Resolution Drive (https://maps.app.goo.gl/7T1mX6EmJNZSXAeBA). There will be traffic management directing the flow of vehicles in the parking area.

I can't commit to the whole session, but I'd still like to attend. Can I arrive late or leave early?

As we provide important safety information (as well as a planting demonstration) at the start of the session, we strongly encourage you to arrive at the meeting time. You can however leave early, if you need to. If you're unsure, please contact us.

I have a medical condition or disability, but would love to attend. Can I take part?

At CVA, we're for all people taking action for nature, and would love to accommodate you as best we can. As part of the activity, you might be required to navigate unstable ground, and bend down to plant. If you're unsure, please get in touch with us (TGustowski@cva.org.au) to discuss suitability.
