NAIDOC Week is a chance to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.

This year Moonee Valley's NAIDOC Week events will commence with a NAIDOC-themed oration delivered by Uncle Charles Pakana at the Incinerator Gallery.

Uncle Charles is an Aboriginal man of Tasmanian descent. He is the founder of Victorian Aboriginal News, the second of three successive generations of Aboriginal journlaists, and chairman of the Barrbunin Beek Aboriginal Gathering Place in Heidelberg West. He dedicates much of his time to supporting the community and elevating First Peoples' voices through his podcasts, which are available on the Victoria Aboriginal News website.
