About Musica da Camera:

Musica da Camera started life as the Weston Creek Music Makers in 1978 and changed its name to Musica da Camera in 1979. At that time it was principally a string orchestra of about 11 players specialising in early music of the Baroque period. From the mid 1990s the repertoire progressively expanded to include music from all periods and the size of the group expanded to its present size of about 20 players.

For the concert at 2.30pm on Sunday Sept 20 the orchestra will be conducted by Lizzy Collier. Lizzy is a double bass player and conductor and is on the staff of the Music Dept at the Canberra Grammar School.

Guest guitarist, Andrew Blanch will perform on the day. Andrew is recognised as one of Australia’s leading and most active young classical guitarists. He made his solo recital debut at the Sydney Opera House in 2017 to critical-acclaim, and to date his career has taken him around the world. His debut CD, Spanish Guitar Music, has proven popular with listeners and critics alike, with glowing reviews and regular airtime on ABC Classic FM.
