Celebrate Harmony Week with a food preserving demonstration that explores flavours and traditions from around the world. This live cooking demonstration will cover traditional preserving techniques made modern, each recipe showcasing a different culture’s approach to transforming simple ingredients into something extraordinary.

You’ll watch each recipe made from start to finish and learn practical techniques you can confidently recreate at home. Attendees receive detailed recipe cards and finish the session with a tasting menu featuring all four preserves.

  • Italian Passata – learn the art of traditional Italian tomato sauce making and bottling techniques.
  • Korean Kimchi – learn the art of fermentation and how to turn produce into gut loving goodness.
  • Indian Lime Pickle – learn pickling basics with this punchy condiment
  • Chinese Sichuan Chilli Oil – learn how to safely preserve using oil

This event is perfect for those who wish to make the most of their produce, food lovers, and anyone keen to celebrate cultural diversity through flavour.

About the presenter:
The session is led by Amy from My Nonna Life, a Perth Hills local and passionate educator and “Nonna” – who loves to inspire people to embrace their inner Nonna. Amy specialises in traditional food preservation, seasonal cooking, and sharing cultural stories through hands-on demonstrations that make everyone feel welcome and capable.
