MSA Queer Beers 2026
A great opportunity for queer and questioning students to relax after a long week and socialise with free cider, soft drinks, and chips!
Queer Beers is MQD's weekly afternoon catchup, held in Sir John's Bar from 3-5pm on Thursdays.
Queer and questioning students can come by for free food and drink, and catch up with other LGBT+ students after a long uni week.
Expect both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink options, and fingerfood such as hot chips. It's a great opportunity to meet other queer students, chat, and have a break from studies at the end of a week of uni.
Accessibility info:
- Wheelchair accessible, extremely close to a lift, lots of chairs available.
- Can get crowded which can make navigating with a wheelchair or white cane a bit difficult
- Can be loud with music and chatter on a busy day.
- Students are welcome to use the queer lounge as a quiet room, as it is usually very empty during queer beers
- First Aiders, Mental Health First Aiders, and personnel training in the Sunflower Scheme will be available on site.
- If you have any accessibility questions, requests or requirements, please email us at msa@monash.edu and we will endeavour to provide accessible options for you.
This is an 18+ event. Please bring a current & valid photo ID. The venue reserves the right to refuse entry. MSA encourages responsible consumption of alcohol.
The Monash Student Association would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which this event will be held, the Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nations. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present; and acknowledge their long history and ongoing care practises for this land.
Sovereignty was never ceded. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
