Mountains Tales - The Katoomba Story
Overview
Did you know that Katoomba was once known as the “Queen City of the Blue Mountains” and “Australia’s Honeymoon Capital”? More Australians enjoyed their first holiday in the Blue Mountains than any other destination in the country.
Join Mountains Tales for a relaxed two-hour walking tour exploring the evolution of Katoomba and uncover how Katoomba blossomed into the “Playground of the Commonwealth”.
We begin our tour in the colonial period, then fast-forward to the glamour of the 1920’s and 30’s. Our tour explores the many activities visitors once enjoyed—most of which are still favourites today. As we wander, the stories and landmarks of the past offer a true step back in time experience.
Tours are intimate, with a maximum of 15 guests, well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome—my two whippets give the tour a glowing five-paw review!
Our Village Walking Tours operate in “Mountains Weather,” please bring a hat, jacket or umbrella, based on the days offering.
If you have a gathering of family or friends, we invite small groups to join us for a private tour. Please contact Sue on 0410 600 224 to coordinate.
Whether you’re a Blue Mountains local or a visitor to the Mountains; we promise you will enjoy an engaging, informative tour filled with great stories and discoveries.
