Moulage is commonly described as the application of makeup or attachable artifacts (wounds) to an individual or manikin to increase the realism in simulation. It includes but is not limited to simulating injuries, bruising, burns, aging, creating blood, sweat, vomit, urine and smells to increase the authenticity of the learner’s experience. Moulage also supports the learner’s sensory perception and therefore enhances the realism.
This workshop is an introduction to medical moulage for simulation and will be conducted by expert members of the Adelaide Health Simulation team. We will be creating various stages of bruising, grazes and use easily obtained household products to create burns, sweat spray and blood.
Registration is open to all members of the University of Adelaide Simulation-Based Education Community of Practice and to all members of the University.
Registrations will be capped at 20 people, so please book in early.
