Moreton (Mulgumpin) Island Clean Up 2026 - By City Beach

Come and join us as we clean the Ocean Side of Mulgumpin

We're excited to once again partner with City Beach to clean Moreton (Mulgumpin) Island together with Moreton Island Adventures & Australian Sunset Safaris this March.

Please note: There is a special ticket exclusive to the Green Shirt Crusaders. This is only for those that have 'earn't' their green shirt. Please only book this if you have earnt this honor. If you haven't had a green shirt 'given' to you by us, please do not book this ticket.

You will need to park at the Gravel Carpark two doors up from Moreton Island Adventures where an OC flag will be flying. You will be met by one of our team. You need to be there and checked in no later than 0730. You will then walk as a group and board the amazing MICAT, provided courtesy of our partner Moreton Island Adventures. Onboard MICAT you are welcome to head upstairs and grab a famous smiley pie, sandwich or coffee on the saloon deck. Relax and enjoy the 90 minute ride to paradise.

Once on the island you walk off the barge to the Ocean Crusaders Marquee just to the right. The big red bus from Australian Sunset Safaris will be there waiting for you and will take you over to the Eastern Beach with your amazing driver giving you a guided tour across the majestic island.

You will then clean for a couple of hours with a focus on getting behind the dunes where the debris is washed up. You will have a chance to sit and enjoy the beach, eat your BYO plastic free lunch and even take a dip if you so desire. You will be returned to the OC marquee by 1430 where you will wait for MICAT and depart at 1500 for the 90 minute return to reality, but the good news is there is a bar onboard so you can have a relaxing drink on the way home.

We need to enforce a minimum age of 13 for this trip for safety reasons (no exceptions). There is a charge of $25 per person that will be refunded if you attend on the day. If you do not attend then this charge will remain.

IMPORTANT: We need to fill the boat and bus positions and hence if you cannot make it, then please advise us ASAP. Pulling out on the day or the day before will be frowned upon greatly and no refunds will be given. Please understand that we have to enforce this as we have very limited numbers and this is an amazing trip that usually you pay hundreds of dollars for.

Please ensure you bring plenty of water. We will have a drum of fresh drinking water on the bus to refill your ‘reusable’ bottles. Please BYO Plastic Free lunch and snacks to get you through the day.

We will provide gloves and bags for cleaning. Please wear suitable cleaning attire including closed in shoes, long pants (as you’ll be in the sand dunes), long sleeves and a hat.

Your schedule will be:

• 0730 check in with OC person at marked carpark (If you're late you will miss the boat)

• 0800 departure on MICAT

• 0945 arrive Moreton Island (Walk off barge to Ocean Crusaders Marquee just to right of landing site for briefing)

• 1000 board bus to Eastern Beach for cleaning

• 1045-1300 – Cleaning

• Lunch Break (BYO Plastic free lunch)

• 1345 – depart eastern Beach for barge landing

• 1430 – Arrive at OC Marquee

• 1500 – Board MICAT for return journey

• 1630 – Arrive back at MICAT base.
