Overview

Young innovators tackle real-world problems and learn design principles through tech, art, and teamwork.

Whether you’re a 3D printing pro, a budding product designer, or a master of DIY hacks, this is your chance to prototype ideas and see your vision come to life. Grab your friends and get ready to build over this three-week class — the next great design starts at The Third Space Lionel Bowen Library!

Week 1 IDEATE (Monday 16 March, 4-6pm)

Brainstorm your solutions to real-world challenges, drafting the plans in 3D software (from prompts or your completely unique idea)

Week 2 PROTOTYPE (Monday 23 March, 4-6pm)

Using supplied materials and the makerspace facilities (laser cutter/3D Printing/plastic extrusion etc.) we will construct your prototypes and test their functions

Week 3 PITCH (Monday 30 March, 4-6pm)

Refine your final product and present it to your peers

Note: the process documentation and products that result from Solve It! might be used in a Randwick Library exhibition, and we may ask permission to further develop your designs after the 3-week design period.

You only need to register once to attend all three workshops. Attendance for all sessions is essential.
