The Mitchell River, a culturally significant, heritage listed river provides potable water for much of the East Gippsland population, supports an extensive agriculture and horticulture industry and is relied upon for farming and recreational uses.
Join the East Gippsland Catchment Management Authority on a paddle along a section of the Mitchell River to talk about current management programs whilst taking in the scenery from the water.
The paddle will start at Picnic Park Reserve at 10am and finish at Howitt Park at approximately 12pm. Lunch will be provided at Howitt Park following the paddle and transporation back to the start point will be arranged.
