Oasis Mindfulness has drawn upon the curricula of the MINDFULNESS STRESS BASED REDUCTION (MBSR) to present a formal, structured program that assists participants to deal more effectively with stress.

Held in a supportive and structured space, and incorporating mindfulness meditation techniques and gentle physical movement, our 8-week MBSR program will help individuals:

  • Bring positive changes to attitudes and behaviours, increasing the quality of relationships

  • Improve working memory, gain clarity with a calmer mind

  • Improve physically with a better immune function, improve sleep practises, healthier heart

  • Reduction in acute and chronic pain

  • Learn to manage stress and anxiety

What is involved?

MBSR is an evidence-based stress-reduction program that has been scientifically proven to help with a range of physical and psychological difficulties including anxiety, depression, and chronic pain.

Over the course of 8 weeks, we explore your patterns of thinking, feelings and actions, and learn how to transform them into positive behaviours.

We will have a group meet-up weekly at Prospect Health Plus in Prospect – this will be 2.5hrs of guided mindfulness meditations, theoretical framework activities, gentle physical movement, group discussions and take home activities for daily practice.

As mentioned earlier, you will also be able to join me for a Day of Mindfulness during the 8 week period which can help expand your creativity, peacefulness, and self-realisation. This will be run on a weekend to ensure that you will be able to make it.

MBSR is for someone who wants to gain the benefits of regular mindfulness practice (for their work or life) and be supported by this program in establishing a regular mindfulness practice.

How does the program work and what does it include?

The course is a 8 week commitment to 8 (in person) training workshops, simple mindfulness practices to learn and how to apply an assortment of mindfulness tools and techniques designed to cultivate awareness, acceptance and compassion towards themselves.The program consists of:

  • 8 x 2.5 hour sessions conducted over 8 weeks

  • Specific application and reflection activities between sessions

  • Guided mindfulness practice at each session as well as gentle physical movement

  • Simple and short mindfulness practices you can easily incorporate into your work day

  • MP3 Mindfulness Practice recordings and handout booklet at each session

  • BONUS: 1x 1 day Day of Mindfulness held on the weekend for your convenience
