Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction is a practical inspiring and transformative program that can improve self awareness, reduce stress reactivity, reprogram negative thought patterns and improve concentration. It can assist people who are stressed, anxious, depressed or in pain.

This in-person program will guide you through various mindfulness practices to help reduce stress and cultivate inner peace. Learn techniques to enhance your well-being and connect with others in a supportive environment. The course is helpful for people with anxiety, depression or stress.

Is parking available?

Yes there is free parking in the Moombara St carpark

What's included?

This includes all course materials, eight classes (two and a half hours per week) and a full day retreat at Kum Ba Yah retreat, Mt Kiera.

What if I have to cancel?

A full refund is available if cancellation is up to 2 weeks prior to the start date. If cancelled after this time partial refunds will be made or if preferred make-up classes can be arranged for a later course.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction

MBSR brings the principles of mindfulness meditation into everyday life by teaching specific skills and practices to help break cycles of anxiety, stress, unhappiness and exhaustion. It can be beneficial for adults, adolescents and children, healthcare professionals, as well as for different health-related outcomes including eating disorders, pain management, sleep disorders, psychological distress and for coping with other health-related conditions.

MBSR is different from many other mindfulness offerings in terms of dedicated attention with a teacher, time spent in actual practice and the transformative power of the experience with other people in the group. It is delivered over eight weeks and involves:

An individual phone interview, and ongoing individual support from your teacher

A 2.5 hour class, over eight weeks, plus one full retreat day

Mindfulness meditation and body awareness training

An exploration of your own patterns and how to transform them

Good conversations about things that matter

Scientific rationale for the practice
