Mindful Thinking - Buddhist Meditation Course
9 Week Course: Mahayana Tibetan Buddhist Teachings - open to everyone, regardless of whether you have meditated before. (Available online).
Overview
Over nine weeks, we will explore the foundational teachings of the Mahayana Buddhist tradition, a profound and practical philosophy rooted in the direct teachings of the Buddha. These teachings are not abstract ideas, but practical tools that help us navigate daily life with greater clarity, resilience, and compassion.
By developing a deeper understanding of the mind and the nature of our experiences, we begin to uncover the kindness and wisdom that naturally reside within us. This course offers a supportive and reflective space to engage with these timeless teachings and apply them meaningfully to our own lives.
What You’ll Learn
Each week we’ll focus on a specific topic drawn from the Lamrim (the graduated path to enlightenment), a structured approach to Buddhist philosophy that allows us to progress step by step.
Topics include:
• The Value of a Perfect Human Rebirth
• Understanding the Eight Worldly Concerns
• Reflecting on Impermanence and Death
• The Law of Karma and the Power of Purification
• Recognising and Transforming Samsaric Suffering
• Working with Anger and Cultivating Patience
• Understanding Attachment and Letting Go
• Developing Equanimity, Kindness, and Compassion
Whether you are new to meditation or seeking to deepen your existing practice, this course invites you to reflect, inquire, and connect with a path of inner transformation.
