Mindful Mixed Media with Emma Florence May
Overview
These inclusive Friday classes invite you to explore mixed media, assemblage, and painting in a supportive, inspiring environment. Experiment with an eclectic mix of materials, thoughtfully sourced found objects, and sustainably recycled treasures as you discover new techniques and create meaningful works of art.
Guided by Emma, you’ll learn to layer, compose, and tell stories through art that reimagines the discarded and overlooked. Each session encourages play, mindfulness, and self-expression, making art accessible for everyone—whether you’re a beginner or experienced.
Come as you are and leave inspired! All materials are provided. Places are limited, so book now to secure your spot and nurture your creativity.
We warmly welcome people of all backgrounds, abilities, and experiences.
Can’t commit to all six weeks? No problem—you can book individual sessions and join when it suits you.
Cost:
$120 + booking fee for 6 sessions.
$25 + booking fee for one session.
Emma Florence May is a proud trans-woman, interdisciplinary artist, and educator. She utilizes traditional and contemporary forms of printmaking, textiles, photo media, collage, and mixed-media techniques to critically explore human-environment relationships and the illusive ‘boundaries’ we like to create between ourselves, others, and our environment. Her current practice is exploring identity, gender, and belonging.
The Museum of Art and Culture (MAC, yapang) is located at the end of First Street, Booragul, on the edge of Lake Macquarie. MAC has ramp access for wheelchairs and prams, baby changing facilities and accessible toilets.
