Do you have a talent for writing and would like to learn the art of writing Microfiction: Super Short stories?

Join writer and teacher Luke Evans as you learn the art of creative writing through micro fiction (writing super short stories). During the workshop you will learn how to create a piece of microfiction and learn writing techniques that will help you tell your story in a flash!

About the presenter

Luke Evans is a writer and high school teacher from the Lake Macquarie region. His microfiction piece entitled “You Can’t Go Home Again” won the Hunter Category for the Spineless Wonders and Newcastle Writers Festival joanne burns Microlit Award in 2017 and was published in Spineless Wonders 2018 “Time” anthology, as well as being adapted into animation and film. He has also been published in Spineless Wonders 2019 anthology entitled “Shuffle”, as well as a variety of other publications, including the online journal “StylusLit” (Sept. 2020), the Corona-virus inspired Corella Virus Stories (May 2020) and Newcastle’s Aurora magazine (Sept. 2013, Feb 2017).


Windale Hub

All day parking is available around the venue on Lake and South Streets. From South Street, the library is an easy 5 minute walk.

Windale Hub also has a rear car park accessible from Shade Lane which will be reserved for accessible parking with a ramp leading to the building. The building also has an internal ramp. There is a second entry to the library on Lake Street with 2-hour parking available. The library has an accessible toilet, and all meeting rooms have a hearing loop.

This event may be photographed and filmed and your image could be used in advertising and promotion by Lake Macquarie City Council. Should you wish to not be photographed or filmed please advise event organisers on entry at the event.
