About this event

  • 7 hours

Substance use difficulties are highly prevalent in young people experiencing mental health disorders, and working effectively with these comorbidities is an important area of competence for clinicians. This one-day workshop will focus on effective work with young people experiencing comorbid substance use disorders, and will focus on evidence-based interventions, in addition to discussing clinical case examples.

At the conclusion of the workshop you will be able to:

• understand the impact of substance use disorders on mental health conditions;

• undertake a comprehensive assessment of substance use;

• describe the impact of various substances on a young person’s mental health; and

• demonstrate awareness of how to intervene effectively with this group
