Event Information
Description
Join your peers and other members of the performing arts industries for this 2 day training course with customised case studies for the performing arts and facilitated by an experienced and accredited trainer who is also an arts professional.
Learn how to assist someone who may be developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis.
Mental health first aid is typically offered by someone who is not a mental health professional but rather someone in the person's social network or work environment. In the Arts industires this could include performers, production crew, arts managers and audience members.
There are many reasons why you can benefit from learning Mental Health First Aid:
- Mental health problems are common
- Many people are not well informed
- Many people with mental health problems do not seek help or delay seeking help
- There is stigma and discrimination associated with mental help problems
- People with mental health problems may at times not have insight
- Professional help is not always available
- Mental Health First Aid is found to be effective
This course is the 2 day Standard Adult Mental Health First Aid Training Fourth Edition. On successful completion of the post course online assessment you can become an accredited Mental Health First Aider.
