About this event

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and embrace the spirit of repair and upcycling at The Tinkerage with our "Mending is Riveting" workshop. Guided by none other than Rosie the Riveter herself, this workshop invites you to get involved with the art of repairing and creating with pop rivets.

Under Rosie's guidance, shape, reform, and connect salvaged pieces of aluminium, pewter, and mild steel. The possibilities are as vast as your imagination – from crafting a unique mobile to sculpting your own masterpiece.

This workshop is not just about learning a skill; it's about embracing a mindset of resourcefulness and reuse. Whether you're a seasoned DIY enthusiast or just starting on your journey, this workshop is an opportunity to hone your skills, fix things around your home, and breathe new life into forgotten treasures.

The Tinkerage is a reuse and repair space located inside Reviva Dunmore at Dunmore Recycling & Waste Disposal Depot. The Tinkerage and its workshops are made possible by the generous support of Shellharbour City Council and Resource Recovery Australia.

The Tinkerage is a safe and fun learning environment with a focus on reuse and repair skills. For safety reasons, The Tinkerage workshops are for 16 years and over or over 13 years if accompanied by an adult.

Participants must wear enclosed shoes.

Tickets: The Tinkerage workshops are free for residents of the Shellharbour City Council local government area. A $40 participation fee applies for non-Shellharbour City Council residents, this is payable on the day of the workshop.

BYO: pieces to repair or upcycle, lunch, a drink and a mug for a cuppa
