Memory of the Night Workshop
Create a miniature scene within an immersive small-scale diorama
In this hands-on workshop you will design and construct a layered engaging diorama. Explore scale and depth to translate your vision into small scale three-dimensional scene. Bring you diorama to life with photos, textures, sound and found objects—including miniature human figures. Expand your understanding of how materials, space, atmosphere and storytelling interact in art-making. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have crafted a unique diorama that not only captures a moment or memory but also demonstrates new approaches to combining media in small-scale installation art.

About Fiona Davies
The art practice of Fiona Davies is based in installation, video, writing, and spoken word performance, informed by the abject and the beautiful. Its purpose is to be a transdisciplinary, political practice of storytelling. These stories primarily address the experiences of the hospital patient the practice of Western medicine. Davies focuses on the patient using humour, chagrin, and gaming, layered with the pleasure of fragments of beauty within the hospital.
