Dr Rosemary Richards will discuss Memories of Musical Lives: Music and Dance in Personal Music Collections from Australia and New Zealand (Parkville, Vic: Lyrebird Press Australia, 2022), which she co-edited with Dr Julja Szuster.
In the book, musicologists and historians explore aspects of music and dance in homes, on board ships, in hotels and in church in the long nineteenth century in Australia and New Zealand. Copies of the book will be available for sale at the event. Musical examples from the manuscript music collections of Georgiana McCrae (1804–90), who designed the National Trust property McCrae Homestead, will be provided by Clara Adams and David Adams.
A National Trust Member exclusive event. Pre-bookings are required to avoid disappointment.
