About this event

The Discovery Centre provides opportunities to connect with MAGNT's collections and exhibitions through play-based learning. This family-friendly space provides opportunities to connect, create and collaborate with each other. You can put together a replica of the skeleton of MAGNT's Pygmy Blue Whale Melville. Dive in and add elements to Melville's marine megacosm, enrich marine biodiversity and challenge your curious mind!

During School Terms* | Open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays | 10:30am - 12:30pm

During School Holiday* | Open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday | 10:30am - 12:30pm

Suitable for ages 2 to 15 years | Free | Bookings not required.

On occasions, the Discovery Centre closes to host other public programs. Please check the Discovery Centre listing on the What's On page of our website to ensure it is open on the day and time you wish to visit.


Key Information

Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

No food or drinks, other than bottled water are allowed in the Discovery Centre.

The Discovery Centre is a shared activity space and participants are kindly asked to tidy up after themselves and be mindful of others in the space.
