Overview
Celebrate another wonderful year with Melbourne River Sangha at our end-of-year picnic. This informal social gathering is a wonderful opportunity to connect more deeply with community members or to connect with us if you have never attended a practice session. We invite you to bring a vegetarian dish to share.

Getting There
The number 19 tram stops at the corner of Gatehouse Street and Royal Parade. From there, it’s about a 5-minute walk to the Australian Native Garden.
If driving, street parking is available.
Accessibility
The main entrance is located on Gatehouse Street. There are accessible toilets at the park, opposite Park Drive. There are wide smooth paths throughout the park, although some minor slopes.
What to bring
- Warm clothes
- Sun hat and sunscreen
- Shoes for walking in the park (the ground may be wet)
- Your water bottle
- A vegetarian dish to share
- Any medications you may require
Food and drink
In line with Buddhist tradition, this is a vegetarian, alcohol-free event. We will share a meal together and we ask that you please bring a vegetarian dish to contribute to the shared meal. Unfortunately, we are unable to cater for specific dietary requirements. If you have dietary requirements, we recommend you bring food that meets your needs.
Who
Anyone is welcome to join our community dinners, and especially welcome for this end-of-year celebration. This includes newcomers interested in our sangha (even if you have never attended a practice session) as well as family members, friends, and loved ones. We request that everyone joining RSVP using this Eventbrite page.
