Child (4-14 years) or Concession $20.00
Child 3 years or under free
Family (2 adult + 2 child) $85.00
Children under 14 must be accompanied at all times.

What does my ticket include?

Ticket prices includes general entry into the Gardens after hours for a self-guided discovery walk of the illuminated plants and megafauna. Activation of roving megafauna by award-winning theatre company Dead Puppet Society at various times throughout the night on the Friends Lawn near Pollen cafe.

Is food available to purchase?

Light supper by Pollen is in addition to the general ticket price for $15.00 (plus Eventbrite fee) per person. Includes damper-style roll with pumpkin soup (Vegetarian, GF option).
Packaged meal to be picked up on arrival. GF option excludes bread roll. Only available to purchase with online tickets

Can tickets be purchased on the night?

There is a limited number of tickets available so entry at the gate will be dependent on availability. MEGAfauna afterDARK has frequently sold out in the past so we recommend pre-booking your tickets.

Question 5

What time does the event open?

Accepted Answer

Main gates open at 5.30pm. Tickets will be checked by ANBG staff on arrival.  
Light supper, if purchased with tickets online, can be collected from Pollen café on arrival after showing the add-on ticket to café staff. 
Pollen café will close at 8pm.
Main gates will close at 8:30pm.

What time will the Dead Puppet Society megafauna be roving?

Roving megafauna at the Friends Lawn area will occur at 5.45pm, 6.30pm and 7:15 each night, excluding Friday 7 July which the megafauna will only be roaming at 5:45pm and 6:30pm.

What can I do at the event?

Accepted Answer

Visitors can explore the Gardens from 5.30 – 8.30pm on a self-guided walk to as part of the MEGAfauna: a walk in time! sculpture trail. The Visitor Centre, Rainforest Gully, Gondwana section, Friends Lawn, Banksia Garden and Paperbark Children’s Area will be illuminated.

Will the whole garden be open and illuminated?

Accepted Answer

No, The Visitor Centre, Rainforest Gully, Gondwana section, Friends Lawn, Banksia Garden and Paperbark Children’s Area will be illuminated. Parts of the Gardens will remain closed, including the Rock Garden, Eucalypt Lawn and Red Centre Garden.

Question 9

Is the event accessible?

Accepted Answer

The majority of the event is accessible; however, due to stairs in the Rainforest Gully, and sections of unsealed path, the event is not fully wheelchair accessible. Please contact us at events@anbg.gov.au if you require mobility assistance, before purchasing a ticket.

Question 10

Is there food and drinks available at the event?

Accepted Answer

Hot and cold beverages, including alcohol, will be available for purchase from Pollen on the night. 
A light supper of a damper style roll and pumpkin soup from Pollen is available for purchase with tickets but must be purchased in advance.

Question 11

Can I bring my own food and drinks in?

Accepted Answer

You are welcome to bring your own picnic food. Bins will not be available throughout the trail so please remember to take your rubbish with you. 
You will not be able to bring alcohol or glass into the event.

Question 12

Is there seating available?

Accepted Answer

There is seating throughout the Gardens and seating on the café deck to see the roving megafauna. You are welcome to bring fold-up chairs, cushions and/or a picnic rug, to relax on the Friends Lawn.

Question 13

Is the event COVID safe?

Accepted Answer

The program has a COVID Safety Procedures and is outdoors; however, it may be subject to changes in accordance with ACT Government restrictions at the time of the event.

Question 14

What happens if it rains, or the event is cancelled?

Accepted Answer

The event will go ahead in light rain, and we recommend you bring wet weather clothing and umbrellas. 
The event will be cancelled in the event of bad weather, storms and heavy winds. We will contact ticketholders directly and advertise on social media if the event is cancelled for any reason.

Question 15

Is the ticket transferrable or refundable?

Accepted Answer

Ticket holders can transfer or refund their tickets themselves through Eventbrite up until 24 hours prior to the event. The processing fee for Eventbrite is non-refundable. Please contact events@anbg.gov.au if you have any questions.

Can I smoke at the event?

MEGAfauna afterDARK is a non-smoking event.

Question 17

Where is the best place to park?

Accepted Answer

There will be parking available in the main car park and if necessary, the overflow carpark off Clunies Ross Street. Please do not park on Clunies Ross Street as this is not a legal parking area.
