Overview

#MeetTheMedia is Australia’s leading media introduction event.

Since 2015, #MeetTheMedia has provided industry experts and businesses a direct chance to meet and establish relationships with Australia's top media and pitch their stories face-to-face.

Celebrating the 11th year in 2026, this event draws in attendees from prominent outlets including: 3AW, 2GB, ABC, The Age, Herald Sun, Sunrise, Today Show, 7 News, 9 News, 10 News First, The Australian, The West Australian, The Daily Telegraph, news.com.au, The Australian Women's Weekly, FIVEaa, WAToday, WA Business News and more.

This is your opportunity to connect, learn from, engage, and meet with WA's most influential media.

This half-day interactive conference brings together the best decision makers in the media cycle and some of the most prominent brands, businesses and experts across all industries.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND -

Industry experts and individuals who want to build their media presence, PR and communication professionals, brand managers, media relations specialists and business owners.

HOW IT WORKS -

We start the morning with three Q&A panels that put the spotlight on media. Nic Hayes pulls back the curtain on how the media works, with a lively and relaxed discussion that answers all the questions you've ever wanted to ask a journalist. From what time to pitch a story, to what time a breakfast radio presenter's alarm goes off, you'll get to know the schedule of the people behind your favourite news and entertainment media and what they're looking for in a story.

The second half of the event is devoted to rotating round-table introductions and pitching. Attendees have a seat at the table with the media from panel sessions, and they each have an opportunity to introduce themselves, pitch their stories and expertise directly to media.

It's not uncommon for media to tell you on the spot that they want your story. We've had attendees on leading breakfast radio and television the day after #MeetTheMedia. If your expertise is sought after and your story is cracking, you'll leave with a plethora of contacts and priceless face-to-face connections.

Media representatives will be announced soon.

#MeetTheMedia is a game-changer for any business or organisation that is looking to make an impact in the contemporary media world. We look forward to seeing you there!

#MeetTheMedia Perth 2024

Nic Hayes

In the panels, media representatives will participate in a Q&A. You’ll learn a lot about the media cycle and different media outlets during these sessions. In the rotating workshop sessions each media representative will sit with 8 attendees. Each person will have 2-3 minutes to introduce themselves, pitch a story, or talk about their area of expertise and how they can be an asset to media. There will be several workshop sessions where attendees will move around to meet/introduce themselves to as many media as time permits.
