Medicine Drum Making Workshop

I am excited and blessed to let you know that I have invited Tania and Brad from Rustic Elements to visit Agnes Water and deliver these transformational workshops

Come and join us for a Native American Style Medicine Drum making workshop

We are offering 2 x 1 day workshops This is a one-day workshop where you will get to make a Native American Style Medicine Drum, using your own inner wisdom to birth your own sacred instrument, with love, respect and honour

Learn how to build and create your very own healing Medicine Drum the traditional way, including a 15" Hoop-Pine hoop frame and your choice of Kangaroo or Goat rawhide

Drum making is a powerful transformative experience, and is an ancient tradition of the Native American people. The Medicine Drum is used for healing yourself or others, offering gratitude, ceremony, and meditative journeying

During our Medicine Drum making workshop we will:

• Create sacred space

• Meditative journey to meet the animal who has gifted its hide for you

• Create your own drum from the hide. Cut out the head of your drum and then the lacing

• Lace your drum together over the hoop frame

• Birth your drum

• At the end of the workshop you will receive a bag to carry your drum in, as well as instructions on how to care for your drum

You will also receive a beater and a hook to hang your drum up with whilst its drying. (Drying time 2 weeks)

These workshops run from 9.30am to about 4:00pm

All you need to bring is your towel and about 20 clothes pegs to help shape the hide around the hoop until dried

Spaces are available on Saturday the 31st July 2021 and Sunday the 1 August 2021

Each workshop will be limited to 8 participants each day

Ticket price is just $425 pp and includes all instruction, meditations and materials as listed above. Light lunch and refreshments will be served.

A $90 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking
