Are you a postgraduate researcher or a clinician working on novel medical device technologies? Or maybe you know someone - a colleague or a friend - interested in this space?
The Medical Device Commercialisation Training Program (MDCTP) is an amazing opportunity for medical device postgraduate researchers and clinicians to explore the realm of commercialising their intellectual property. Whether you are an academic, an entrepreneur or an academic-entrepreneur, the MDCTP will help you to put things into perspective; how can you make the most impact with your innovative ideas and technologies?
MDCTP is delivered by Cicada Innovations with support and funding from NSW Health with the aim of fostering commercialisation of medical devices in NSW. The program is provided at no cost to participants or their institution.
The program offers knowledge, skill and network building opportunities to 200 NSW-based candidates each year through a number of different training courses.
From intellectual property protection (IP) and management through to capital raising and product design & development, the program focuses on providing participants with a practical overview of how to create a real impact though medtech innovation.
The most promising candidates will be awarded educational scholarships, sponsored opportunities to explore global markets or seed capital to start their own business in order to foster medical research and commercialisation in NSW.
In partnership with the NSW Office for Health and Medical Research Cicada Innovations will run a number of training courses as part of the MDCTP, which have a different eligibility criteria.
Cicada Innovations will hold two information sessions in the next couple of months to provide attendees with the opportunity to learn in detail about everything the program has to offer, including meeting MDCTP Alumni and touring Cicada Innovations - Australia's oldest and largest advanced technology incubator, home to more that 70 startups - where program's workshops and lecture will be held.
Postgraduate researchers, final year PhD students, clinitians and representatives from NSW university tech transfer offices, hospitlas, and research organisations are welcome to attend.
