Important Notice
This Professional Development program takes place over the course of 2 weeks, with two sessions each running for 90 minutes. One ticket will cover both sessions.

Session one: August 13 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm AEST.
Session two: August 20 from 6pm to 7pm AEST.

Using our annual Behind the Lines political cartooning exhibition, learn how to engage students with our democracy and develop media literacy skills.

By unpacking cartoons, students will develop their critical thinking to consider author intent and bias. They will consider social issues, democratic rights and their freedoms and responsibilities as active citizens.

In this online program you will:

  • explore a range of historic and contemporary political cartoons
  • unpack the techniques used in creating cartoons
  • identify reliable sources
  • develop characters from scratch to whole person.

This is a TQI Accredited program.

This is a relaxed program which means you can get up and move around if you need. We will email a PDF of the PowerPoint presentation after the session.

You will need a stable Zoom connection. Upon registration you will receive a Zoom link to the webinar.
