Measuring Impact for the Social Sciences
Thu. 13 October 2016, 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm AEDT
The impact agenda is set to shape the way in which social scientists prioritise the projects they choose to pursue, challenge the research methods they use, and how they share their findings over the coming decade. CSIRO has been measuring impact for all its lines of business, including science, services and national facilities and collections. Join us to share learnings from their experiences and yours.
In particular, the session will cover the following topics in the social sciences:
approaches to planning and monitoring impacts
developing more sophisticated ways to measure impacts
assessing effective impact pathways
Aimed at: Research administrators who support researchers; those working in policy and measurement systems; and researchers.
Format: Presentation, drawing upon case studies, followed by individual activity and break out discussions.
Speakers: Anne-Maree Dowd (Senior Advisor on Impact, CSIRO)
Attendees are invited to stay back for networking over refreshments.
Note: Parking near the CBR Innovation Network is available at the City West Carpark, located on Allsop Street. CityWest uses chip coins instead of paper tickets for parking. Parking rates are available here.
