This course has been designed to build fundamental skills in the management of AS 4000 contracts in a local government setting and will be held across two half days.

In this practical and interactive training course you will examine a range of topics and issues specific to the management of AS 4000 (construction) contracts in a local government setting.

This course will cover:

• An introduction to the AS 4000 series
• The key aspects of the AS 4000, stepping through each clause and understanding its use and impact
• Understanding the role and responsibilities the superintendent
• Dispute management
• Timeframes for processes

Who is this course for?

AS 4000 Contract Management training is perfect for council staff who manage (or oversee staff who manage) an AS 4000 contract in the role of ‘superintendent’ or ‘superintendent’s representative’. The content is suitable for staff who are new or experienced in managing AS 4000 contracts.

How this course benefits you

By the end of the program you will be able understand the roles and responsibilities of the superintendent and the superintendent’s representative and have the ablity to read and understand the obligations in the contract and apply them. You will have the knowledge to manage issues and disputes, however, would benefit from supervised practice and provision of Council templates for notifications, claims and other critical documents. You'll also build connections with your peers across a diverse cohort of organizations.
