Matthew Elder, Carers NSW - How to access funds through the NDIS
Tue. 22 August 2017, 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm AEST
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new way of providing support for Australians with disability, their families and carers. The NDIS will provide about 460,000 Australians under the age of 65 with a permanent and significant disability with the reasonable and necessary supports they need to live an ordinary life. The NDIS is based on functional impairment and the impact of a condition on a person’s daily life and participation. People with a range of diagnoses may be eligible and receive support based on their current needs.
Matthew Elder, Education & Training Officer at Carers NSW will discuss how family members can get the best outcome from the NDIS for the person they care for and for themselves.
