Whether you are part way through the year and wondering where those resolutions went, finding that your plans aren't getting you where you want to be, or actively seeking your next development opportunity, the right time to invest in yourself is always now.

Take charge of your personal and professional development planning using the simple COMMS plan method.

The COMMS plan is a simple communication planning tool used by hundreds of communication professionals to make their communication planning easy.

Now, extend this simple approach to establish a practical, actionable plan for your personal and professional development. Whether you are a freelancer managing things all yourself, or working in an organisation with its own development planning process, you are still the driver of your development.

In this introduction to the approach we will work through the simple COMMS Development Plan tool and learn how to apply it to personal development planning.

About Jonathan Champ, your facilitator

As an experienced leader, collaborator and communication researcher, I grow the profession through building the knowledge, skills and capabilities of others. I do this through tailored development programs, mentoring and publishing. The open-source COMMS Plan method I developed underpins this, consolidating my experience as an IABC author, presenter, Melcrum researcher and CEB (Now Gartner) trainer. I've trained hundreds of communication professionals and presented to thousands of business and industry leaders on creating communication impact in a changing world of work.

As the founder of Meaning Business, I’ve helped CEOs, CXOs, Executive Teams, Communication Directors, Project Managers, HR teams, Marketing Managers, solve challenges through communication, change management and leadership.

As a creative producer, I foster collaboration and the sharing of ideas that can create change. I was the first licensee and executive producer of the 2012 TEDxParramatta, the founder of Adelaide’s screen industry event Tuesday Talks and the co-founder of the Adelaide Screenwriters Club. I was co-curator and chair of a range of communication conferences and development events as the regional Research Director for Melcrum’s Strategic Communication Forum.
