Masterclass Plant Propagation: Principles and Practices

Discover how to succeed with seedlings, take cuttings of rare or difficult to grow plants to enhance your garden, save money and satisfy the challenge of growing your own special plants.

Learn from the Botanic Gardens of South Australia Nursery Curator in this practical hands-on Masterclass.

This Masterclass will cover the scientific principles of plant growth and propagation and will include demonstrations of growing media and a range of propagation methods.

At the end of the day, participants can take home the plant and propagation materials they have generated during the class.

Presenter: Matt Coulter

Matt Coulter has worked in the horticultural nursery industry for the past 30 years. Matt is currently the curator of Plant Propagation at the Adelaide, Mount Lofty and Wittunga Botanic Gardens managing the propagation and growing of new plant material for the Gardens.

Matt is widely known for his innovative work in propagating one of the world's most fascinating plants - the Amorphophallus titanum. Matt's work has seen the Botanic Gardens of South Australia amass one of the world's largest collections of this threatened species.
