Event description

Description

This Masterclass will be facilitated by: Michael Ableman, farmer, writer and change maker.

It is designed for leaders across government, industry associations, businesses, organistions and community groups who want to work together to see urban agriculture initiatives flourish in Adelaide.

Michael will help us kick-start an Urban agriculture network in South Australia, in response to local interest and international examples.

His most recent book is Street Farm - growing food, jobs and hope on the urban frontier which chronicles the story of Sole Food Street farms in Vancouver. He currently divides his time between his home base Foxglove Farm and the Center For Arts, Ecology, and Agriculture on Saltspring Island CA, and urban farming social enterprises in nearby cities.

“Ableman has a finely honed sensibility—he gardens society, grows well-being, weeds out despair, and sows hope.” – Paul Hawken, author of Drawdown + Blessed Unrest

This Masterclass is proudly brought to you by the UniSA Urban Ag Lab, CQUni Permaculture Program, the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board and Milkwood.
