Do I need previous conservation experience to get the most out of this training?

Yes, at least one year of conservation education or training is required.

Do I need to bring my own tools to complete this training?

Yes, and the basic tool kit can be seen in the images here, but the bindery keeps several sets of student tools. A complete tool list will be provided well before the workshop commences.

Do I need to brings some cloth bindings to conserve during this training? If so, how many?

Yes, you are welcome to bring 2-3 cloth bindings, but books to conserve during the training can be provided by your teacher for a small fee. Please email Karen bcsbindery@gmail.com if unsure what books to bring with you.

Do I need to bring my lunch or are there shops nearby?

Yes, we have lots of food retailers to chose from which are a 5 minute walk from the bindery.

What is the nearest public transport to the bindery?

The 190 bus from Stop Y2 on King William Street (city) stops within a few minutes walk of the bindery along Unley Road, stopping close to Wattle Street. There are also coffee shops near the stop, just in case.
