Mass & Morning Tea with LGBTIQA+ Catholic Group

Mass & Morning Tea with LGBTIQA+ Catholic Group

Overview

Join us for a cozy morning of morning tea followed by mass with our amazing LGBTIQA+ Catholic community!

Join us for our monthly Mass & Morning Tea in South Perth! Acceptance Perth is an LGBTIQA+ Catholic group – you do not need to be Catholic to join us, and allies are always welcome.

Morning tea runs from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM and you are welcome to drop in at any time. It is a relaxed, informal gathering where you can mingle, enjoy tasty treats, and have meaningful conversations with others who understand what it is to hold faith and identity together.

Mass begins at 11:30 AM and runs until approximately 12:15 PM. It takes place within a small, intimate religious community in a genuinely warm and welcoming setting. Attendance at Mass is entirely optional – you are welcome to come for morning tea and leave beforehand if you prefer.

Registration is not required, however booking through this page means you will receive handy email reminders. If you have dietary requirements, please do register so we can cater for you.

When you arrive, look out for our A-frame sign at the entrance – it will guide you to the right place. (Or if you arrive early, one of our members will be there shortly to get things set up.)

By attending an Acceptance Perth event, you agree to abide by the following Code of Conduct.

– Acceptance Perth events are intended to be safe, respectful, and nourishing spaces for LGBTIQA+ people of faith, as well as their supporters and allies. As a condition of entry, all participants are required to help make these gatherings a sanctuary for LGBTIQA+ people. This includes treating all participants with respect and consideration, valuing a diversity of experiences, backgrounds, and identities, and engaging with kindness, courtesy, attentive listening, sensitivity, and mutual respect.

– LGBTIQA+-phobic, racist, sexist, pro-conversion-therapy, or otherwise bigoted or abusive language or behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

– We affirm that God calls each person to discern and live out their own path in life. Acceptance Perth does not support pressure of any kind, including (but not limited to): pressure into celibacy, unwanted romantic or sexual advances, pressure to enter or remain in a relationship, pressure to transition or de-transition.

- Acceptance Perth events are safe spaces. Antisocial behaviour of any kind – whether physical, verbal, or digital – may result in immediate removal from the event and a permanent ban from future events.

- As many religious and secular spaces remain unsafe for LGBTIQA+ people of faith to speak openly, confidentiality is essential. What is shared within the gathering stays within the gathering. Personal stories, names, or identifying details must not be shared outside the space without explicit consent.

- Photography, filming, or audio recording is not permitted at any Acceptance Perth event unless prior written permission has been granted by the organisers.

- The organisers reserve the right to withdraw, refuse, or revoke participation at their discretion in order to uphold this Code of Conduct.
