March Movement Lab is a full day of dance exploration where we dive into 3 different styles.

1PM- 2:30 PM Serpentine Lab — Fusion with Thais Carvalho

A return to the roots of Tribal Fusion through sinuous, continuous, and intelligent movement. In this lab, we revisit the “old school is cool” vocabulary that shaped the foundations of the style — undulations, arm pathways, torso articulations, and layered patterns — approached in a way that feels organic, fluid, and alive in the body rather than rigid or forced.

This workshop focuses on refining the technical details that allow movement to happen naturally: how the spine initiates, how the arms travel without stiffness, how layers can exist without tension, and how serpentine quality can flow through the entire body with control and ease. We will explore drills, combinations, and transitions that bring back the essence of early Tribal Fusion aesthetics while developing a more mature, effortless embodiment of these movements.

This is a space to reconnect with the vocabulary, clean the lines, soften unnecessary tension, and let the body remember how to move with continuity, precision, and intention.

2:30 PM - 4 PM Feeling the Movement - Oriental with Miramar

let's explore the meeting point between clear Oriental technique and the inner world of feeling that gives dance its life.

This workshop focuses on refining Oriental bellydance technique while developing a deeper sense of feeling and expression in the body. The aim is to help dancers move beyond “doing the steps” and start dancing with clarity, intention, and presence.

We’ll work on key Oriental technique elements such as posture, transitions, hips, torso, and arms, and explore how to give these movements texture, softness, power, and emotional quality. You’ll learn how to make your technique look richer and more connected, without adding unnecessary complexity.

The workshop will finish with a short Oriental-inspired combination that brings together technique and feeling, giving you a practical phrase you can take into your own practice, choreography, or improvisation.

4 PM - 5:30 PM Yalla Syrian Dabke with Miramar

This energetic Dabke workshop invites you into the vibrant spirit of Syrian folk dance, led by a Syrian teacher sharing the culture, steps, and communal feeling of Dabke as it is danced in celebration and gathering.

In this session, you’ll learn the foundations of Syrian Dabke — footwork, rhythm, posture, and group connection — while exploring the character and attitude that bring the dance to life. Dabke is not just about steps; it’s about presence, pride, and moving together as one line. We’ll build confidence through accessible drills and learn a short, joyful Dabke combination you can dance together as a group.

Expect a high-energy, uplifting class that leaves you feeling connected, grounded, and buzzing with collective spirit — whether it’s your first time trying Dabke or you already love dancing in a line.
