Using Lino Printing to Map your Landscape with Master Printer Ro Murray
Mapping Your Landscape
Ro Murray | Masterclass Lino Print Workshop
The Makers Studio CC 27-28 February 2027 ( 10am – 4pm)
Ro will introduce her multi-block lino prints exploring the waterways and landscapes of places familiar to her. Drawing on her architectural background, she uses topographic maps, walking and observation to translate the contours of land and the movement of water into layered prints.
Through a series of experimental exercises, Ro will encourage participants to identify shapes, lines and patterns within their own familiar landscapes, then push beyond the recognisable towards abstraction and the unknown. Participants will explore how variations in line, shape and colour can reveal change, develop visual narratives and build a series of interconnected prints.

Over the past two years, Ro’s distinctive lino-printed pianola rolls have been exhibited nationally and internationally, including the Arte Laguna Prize, Venice; Works on Paper at Sydney Contemporary; Canberra Art Biennial; Manly Library Artists’ Book Awards; Crescendo at Clifton School of Arts; Hawkesbury Now; the Korean Art Prize; and the WAMA Environment Works on Paper Art Prize, Victoria. Her work has also been acquired by the State Library of New South Wales; and this year she was selected finalist to Hornsby, Fleurieu Biennial South Australia, St Columba’s, and Fishers Ghost Art Prizes.
