Mandurah Dolphin Watch information evening
If you live in Mandurah, love dolphins and want to learn more about them and how you can help protect them, then this is the event for you!
Learn more about the Peel-Harvey Estuary and the dolphins that call Mandurah home. Join Dolphin Watch and become a citizen scientist!
We're pleased to announce the next Dolphin Watch information and training event in Mandurah. Join us (DBCA, Estuary Guardians, Mandurah Cruises, Peel-Harvey Catchment Council and John Tonkin College) and lead researcher, Dr Krista Nicholson (Murdoch University), and hear more about her fascinating research into the Mandurah dolphins.
Learn about dolphin biology, how to identify individual dolphins and the different behaviours you may be lucky enough to observe. You will also learn how to report your sightings and how your observations contribute to ongoing research and conservation efforts. You will have the opportunity to sign up to become a registered Dolphin Watch volunteer, and meet other passionate volunteers in Mandurah. New volunteers will also receive a hard copy of the sixth edition of FinBook Mandurah - an identification catalogue for dolphin in the Peel-Harvey Estuary and surrounding waters.
Doors open at 6pm with light refreshments provided. Presentations will start at 6.20pm.
