Event description

Description

“It’s not fair!” No, life isn’t – and our workplaces aren’t either. Although few leaders and managers would admit to being biased, unconscious bias still remains rife. And it causes significant harm to both the reputations and effectiveness of leaders, and also the lives of those they seek to lead.

Most professionals are now well aware of the risks of demographic bias and discrimination - but it is in the broader behavioural area that unconscious bias still runs rampant - introverts vs extroverts / big picture vs detail / formal vs informal: any small behavioural difference can set us on the path to assumptions and bias.

In this workshop, Julie Watson discusses:

  • how unconscious bias workshow
  • how to limit the risk of unconscious bias
  • how to really listen
  • how to control or minimise our assumptions
  • how to maintain a curious mindset
  • how to probe or minimise ambiguities
  • how to respond when we believe we are the victims of harmful unconscious bias

This workshop will help both individuals and leaders/managers seeking to coach others.

Register now, or for more information, contact Julie Watson on 0406 002886 / julie@juliewatson.com.au
