This Managing High Risk Individuals – Introduction online webinar is intended for anyone involved in a faith or church community who would like to understand and learn about how to identify and manage high risk individuals in your context (i.e. parishioner, lay or ordained ministry, employed or volunteer). Participants will gain an entry-level understanding of how to identify, manage and respond to high risk individuals.

This session focuses on responding to those individuals with a substantiated complaint or who have been convicted of an offence relating to child sexual abuse.

Some topics listed here will be just referred to whilst others will be addressed in greater detail.

This Managing High Risk Individuals- Introduction webinar explores:

  • The different types of child sex offenders, how they think, operate, target, groom and infiltrate.
  • Organisational vs victim grooming.
  • Can offenders be rehabilitated.
  • Rates of recidivism.

This 90 minute webinar will help you:

  • Understand the different types of offender profiles.
  • Understand the importance of psychological testing.
  • Understand your own church and faith context and develop an ability to manage high risk individuals as well as identify gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Understand best practice around responding.

The webinar will be hosted by Daniele Donnini (CPSL Director of Safeguarding) and Laura Lindsay-Cregan (National Coordinator, NCCA Safe Church Program).

The presentation will be delivered with participation from Mr Carl Collins.
