Managing complex behaviours and needs - supporting young people in care
How do we effectively support children who’ve experienced trauma when conventional behaviour management approaches fail them?
As part of our 2026 Carer Information Session Program, we are pleased to offer CF&KC-SA Carer Members the opportunity to learn from renowned expert in child trauma and development, Clinical Psychologist Colby Pearce.
Colby’s powerful training session will deliver a transformative framework for understanding what’s really happening beneath challenging behaviours. Over a 4hr session, Colby will focus on the “AURA approach”:
- being accessible to reassure children we’re available
- responding with understanding through our words and actions
- being proactively responsive to needs before children must demand them
- maintaining attunement - that crucial emotional connection that communicates worth and care
Attendance is free for CF&KC-SA Carer Members (places strictly limited)
