In February 2024, the ME-038 committee continued its 2023 resolution to work towards a single document for AS2885. This is a long-term vision and will not be quick or easy to accomplish, taking many years before the change is published. The goal is valid, given technology, search expectations, and possible future publishing developments.
In support of this proposed change, this webinar will present the challenges of working towards a single document. We are proposing to turn the focus to “Topics” rather than “Parts” of the Standards so that subject-matter experts (e.g., corrosion, welding, defect assessment, external interference) are engaged for their specific technical knowledge across the whole pipeline lifecycle, rather than disjointed by phase. Challenging? Yes. And, we will make it informative and engaging too.
