Presented by Dr Susan Walter, Bendigo Regional Archives Centre.

In February 2024, Malmsbury Bluestone was the first Australian stone to be designated by the Heritage Stone Sub-commission of UNESCO as a Global Heritage Stone Resource. Hear how this was achieved, what it takes for a stone to receive this recognition, and why Malmsbury Bluestone's history made it a suitable candidate.

Sue completed her PHD Malmsbury Bluestone and Quarries: Finding Holes in History and Heritage at Federation University Australia, in 2019.
